Dragon Chop Tea was the favorite tea blend of financier J. Pierpont Morgan. This tea blend has remained unchanged since 1929. The tea comes in a beautifully crafted custom tea tin with a raised golden dragon on the lid. Though best known for his banking, Mr. Morgan was a philanthropist and pursued a variety of personal interests. As one of the most powerful men of the era, he had specific ideas and maintained high standards when it came to tea. His preferred brew blended Earl Grey from Sri Lanka with Lapsang Souchong from China and English Breakfast Tea. The fact is, this tea was so special to Mr. Morgan that he began to bestow it upon friends and business associates as a gift – a tradition carried on by his son.
